Subject	check engine light does not turn on

Message	first post. yey. I'm having problem with the cel light not turning on when the key position is ON. Now I run diagnostic on the ecu and got a code 55. The cel never blinked not even once, I relied on the led in the ecu. now I forced the car to have a fault code just to see if the cel would come on but nothing. ecu shows code 12 since I pulled the maf sensor. I have my instrument cluster apart to check the bulb and swapped with the working ones and still no cel. ran continuity test on the cluster and saw no break on the line. ran a continuity test on the ecu harness pin 32 to cluster m28 harness pin 7 and it has a solid connection. I noticed though that there is constant voltage on cluster harness pin 7, 3.5v I believe, when the rest does not, ie battery warning, door ajar, when the car is turned off. I checked to see if there is voltage coming off pin 32 on the ecu harness and it has none. this is my first z and I'm lost. if it helps my car was originally a usdm auto n/a now runs as a 5 speed TT with JDM motor and ecu. thanks
